Feet per second as referred to elsewhere is not a meaningful power measurement. The reason is that the weight of the pellet determines the speed, but a lighter weight pellet may not be as accurate, ( read the info copied off the web under airgun pellets ) whereas Joules and foot pound are.
1 ft/lb = 1.35581.8Joules
1Joule = 0.737562
Thus 16 Joules = 16 x 0.737562 = 11.8 ft/lb
About as close to the limits of the law you are going to get
DISPOSAL OF UNCOLLECTED ARTICLES
Any prepaid article or article left for repair or sent in for repair not collected within twelve months, or such period not less than 3 months TORTS (INTERFERENCE WITH GOODS) ACT 1977 as may be stated, may be disposed of by Etonguns/Eton Repairs and the proceeds applied to defray the process charge. This right will be exercised only after all reasonable attempts have been made to contact the customer with a view to his collecting the articles and paying the appropriate charge. Our normal procedure is to contact the owner at regular intervals for the first 3 months, using the information supplied by the customer, (any changes to those details are the responsibility of the customer to provide in writing ) and thereafter at periodic intervals until 11 months from the date of receipt of repair. Then the item will be disposed in the above manner.
